The Roadhouse Ribs

No Frill Bar and Grill
806 Spotswood Ave, Norfolk, VA 23517

I came back to No Frill Bar and Grill in Norfolk. That shouldn’t be a surprise since I had an excellent experience last time enjoying the Seafood Trilogy. It was catfish, crab cake and fried shrimp served right! Honestly, that meal was perfect! You can check out that blog entry!

But, on this second visit, I had something that I had before from other places. Ribs! But, this time, they were also perfect from a place that does not seem to do me wrong. So far, so good!

They were a full rack and there was not one dry bone in my serving. They were fatty, juicy and tender and they were brushed with this “sweet n tangy bbq sauce” that made it taste so good!

And, most of my pieces were thick with a lot of meat attached to them. So far, No Frill Bar and Grill were known to serve huge portions and they did not fail me here; especially, with the St. Louis style ribs.

The cornbread was fluffy with a hint of sweetness. The baked beans were delicious, and the coleslaw was also good!

But, these ribs were better than most of the barbeque places I tried before, and No Frill Bar and Grill was known for their meatloaf and not this barbeque classic. I have yet to try the meatloaf, honestly. But, for a place that serves a lot of variety, I am impressed!

Oh yea, the appetizer was the Buffalo Shrimp. They were crispy and they were soaked with buffalo sauce with tender and chewy shrimp inside the crumby, bready texture! You will crave more of it!

Well, after enjoying the whole meal! I walked out there full and satisfied! Hopefully, I will walk back in soon!
