I decided to revisit this spot.
Slight takeout, Slight dance club, you do feel quite festive in Island Hut.
They even got a party light in the ceiling playing modern island music and reggae with a dash of hip hop. You might get the resort vibes.
This place definitely put in the extra effort of giving the customers a getaway mood.
The woman at the register was very friendly as I ordered the dark jerk chicken with steamed cabbage and macaroni.
The jerk chicken was neatly cut and had a nice smokey charred taste and it was tender complementing the flavor of the jerk sauce which had a hint of sweetness; especially, with the roasted skin.
The cabbage had carrots contributing to the slight tasty crunch and the macaroni had a nice soft cheesy texture. Of course, you could always enhance the flavor by adding the jerk sauce to the macaroni.
Everything was tasty and not bland.
Overall, a wonderful place with tasty food if you're looking for that island vibe.
