Try This Delicious Flavorful Chicken In Beautiful Town Center!

Living in Virginia, you'll definitely be familiar with different ways to prepare and cook a chicken. This is the south, after all!

But, have you ever tried chicken PERi-PERi style? 

PERi-PERi is a pepper known as African Bird’s Eye Chilli, used to prepare meals that are rooted in South African and Portuguese influences. 

The meal I had was not bland at all and packed a wallop of delicious flavor!

The PERi Chicken Rainbow Bowl consisted of onion salad accompanied with tomato cucumber.

Also added to the bowl, was the pickled cauliflower with feta, hummus, and the superseed crunch which blends well with the Portuguese rice.

Lemon & Herb PERi-PERi drizzle was dashed into the mixture to add more pop to the blended flavors!

But, the chicken itself, marinated 24 hours in the African spice, according to the website, was also flame-grilled to order giving it a nice, tender, smokey, and juicy taste. It was perfect!

Overall, I ordered my meal at the medium spice level as an option, so it had some kick but it wasn’t scorching. 

With everything combined, my bowl was savory! 

I also ordered The Chicken "Burger" that had that same PERi-PERi flavor tucked between bread that was soft and chewy containing the cheddar cheese and pineapple, as well. Along with the tomato and the lettuce, everything blended well together; especially, when it comes to the pineapple and the cheese. That was a great pairing of sweetness contrasting with the nice flavor of the delectable dairy product!

Walking into the restaurant, the South African influences were quite noticeable. The ambience was stylish, but also down to earth. 

The same could be said for the patio which was enjoyed under the nice weather at the heart of the Virginia Beach Town Center.

Overall, if you want a sample of Portuguese and South African influenced cuisine then you definitely can try this place without leaving the country!
